Aloha eCard Now Installed at 1,500+ Locations
A year after debut, electronic gift card solution generating serious numbers
BEDFORD, TX (October 15, 2003) - Aloha Technologies, providers of software systems and information solutions for the hospitality industry, announced that their gift card solution Aloha eCard is now installed at more than 1,500 locations across 276 different companies. Currently, there are several more restaurant groups preparing to roll out Aloha eCard, which will bring the total of locations to 2,000 within the next 60 days. The product debuted in October 2002.
Aloha eCard customers include such restaurant industry leaders such as Jamba Juice, Cosi, Noodles, Diedrich Coffee, Texas Land & Cattle Steak House, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Goode Co. Barbeque, Fifth Group Restaurants, Starr Restaurants, and Perry's Restaurants. In addition, the versatile standalone version of eCard - known as Aloha eCard Terminal Edition - is active in a number of non-Aloha-POS foodservice sites and convenience store settings, including nearly 700 Cumberland Farms locations.
Gift card usage has been proven to increase business and customer loyalty when implemented. This is a vital business tool, since repeat customers are considered the key to long-term success in the restaurant industry. Studies indicate that an average of up to 25% of gift cards sold are never redeemed or redeemed in full, creating extra revenue for restaurateurs.
Aloha eCard is fully integrated with Aloha's award-winning point-of-sale solution. No training or cumbersome setup is required. Gift Card sales and redemptions are simply handled just like selling standard items or tendering to another payment type. More importantly to the restaurateur, there are no transaction fees.
"Aloha eCard has achieved a significant share of the stored value market in a short time," said Jeff Hughes, Aloha's Director of Internet Services. "Our customers love the fact that we don't charge transaction fees and have the capability to authorize transactions offline during any telecommunications outages. We are also providing large customers with the ability to process their own transactions, further decreasing the cost of ownership. In many cases, these cost savings will pay for a POS rollout when amortized over a multi-year timeframe."
