Radiant Systems Debuts VisualPoint Solutions
Digital Media Broadcasting Delivers Greater Visibility for Advertisers at Houston's M Bar on Main
DALLAS, February 13, 2004 -VisualPoint, an online digital media broadcasting system offered by Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RADS), made its U.S. debut this month at one of the most high-profile hospitality sites in the country - the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee's official late-night hospitality venue, The Point After at the upscale M Bar on Main. At each of six nightly celebrations that featured star football players and entertainment celebrities, VisualPoint technology displayed Super Bowl Host Committee and other sponsor advertisements on plasma screens throughout the club. The system enhanced guests' visibility of sponsors and the overall branding of events while entertaining with exciting new ads as well as coverage of the Super Bowl game during the NFL Players Gala.
"VisualPoint technology provided M Bar on Main with a very exciting, flexible system for promoting sponsors and events during the ultimate week of entertainment," said Joe Martin, the club's owner. "We displayed a different mix of content each night, depending on what was scheduled, and we were able to do that effectively with online digital media. VisualPoint technology has great potential to boost revenue through advertising opportunities and through targeting promotions within the club to suggest products to our guests."
The VisualPoint solution is a dedicated software system for digital media broadcasting in nightclubs and bars, quick-service and fast-casual restaurants, convenience stores, cinemas, hotels, and other hospitality and retail environments. The technology was developed by Radiant's partner Visual Point S.L., a company based in Madrid, Spain that has deployed the solution for leading retail and hospitality businesses in Europe.
By sending multimedia via the Internet for display on large digital signs around a store or facing customers from a point-of-sale terminal, VisualPoint technology delivers highly targeted content to drive increased revenue. The system increases customers' impulse buys and consistently delivers suggestive selling. It also provides a new revenue source to operators in the form of sales of advertising for their vendors and partners.
"We believe that technologies such as VisualPoint are fundamentally altering the way hospitality and retail operators advertise," said Manny Negreiro, president of the Radiant Hospitality Division. "Digital multimedia delivered via the Internet is dynamic and easily managed, and it is more attractive and entertaining for customers than other forms of advertising. Operators can effectively pinpoint advertising and promotions so that the content, location, and time are all aligned with customers ready to purchase products."
